SERVPRO of Downey's Quest for the Holy Bourbon

If there's anything you should know about the South, it's that they pride themselves on their hospitality. And they certainly deliver on that. Visiting Tennessee (SERVPRO homeland) and Kentucky (Bourbon homeland) was a great adventure.
We tackled the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, visiting 13 distilleries, getting a booklet stamped at each.
On our quest we learned about Baudoinia.
What is Baudoinia?
Baudoinia is a phenomenon that takes place where ever whiskey is being made. It's a black fungus that occurs on buildings, signs, trees, and other things that might be in the area. Despite its appearance it's totally safe.
Airborne Ethanol + Moisture = Baudoinia.
Fun Fact: Authorities used to track down illegal Moonshine distillers by looking for black trees, a sign of Baudoinia.
